This morning, at 9.00am, H. E. Mgr Alfred Xuereb, flanked with Archpriest Mgr Joseph Curmi, presided solemn concelebration at St George’s basilica in honour of St George, Protector of the islanders.
During the solemn high mass, Mgr Xuereb also anointed an adolescent, Matthias Farrugia with the chrism.
At the end of the Mass, the last one of the Triduum, he intoned the Te Deum hymn in thanksgiving at the end of the three days of preparation for the solemnity that entered today at noon.
The Laudate Pueri choir animated the liturgy.
