During these three days of the Triduum, there is no better place to be than on a chair at St George’s Basilica from 6.30pm onwards.

The sacred beauty of Sung Vespers, the sumptuous music composed by Farrugia and Fiammingo, the shining splendour of the Basilica adorned with its finest garments, are only a few of what draws so many people to St George’s for the celebration of the Triduum in honour of the saint.

Yesterday, Fr Noel Debono, a young priest from Nadur, chosen this year to deliver the three homilies, has introduced us in a very convincing way to the theme of holiness, highlighting some of the main moments in St George’s life.

The solemnity inside is later at night complemented with festive band marches and briju in the main streets of Victoria.
