The Liturgical Calendar of the Diocese of Gozo celebrates today the Feast of St George, Patron Saint of Gozo.
Since April 23 this year fell within the Octave of Easter, in accordance with the Universal Norms on the Liturgical Year and the General Roman Calendar, which states that the first eight days of Easter Time constitute the Octave of Easter and are celebrated as Solemnities of the Lord, thus excluding the possibility of any other liturgical memorial in that period, the Solemnity of St George has been rightly transferred to the first day outside the Octave.
At 7.00pm, HL Bishop George Frendo, will preside a Pontifical High Mass at St George’s Basilica. At 6.15pm, the Collegiate Chapter will celebrate the Second Solemn Vespers.
