Lent is a special time for the preaching of the Word and the St George’s Parish has laid out a programme of ministry that runs through the current liturgical season.
Fr Jimmy Xerri will give the Lenten talks to all, held at George’s Basilica at 4.30pm.
Archpriest Mgr Joseph Curmi and other Catechists are going to give five Lenten talks to the children of the parish. These talks will be held in the Parish Hall at 7.30pm.
Fr Martin Cilia MSSP gives the general Lenten sermons to parents and families in the Basilica at 7.30pm.
All lenten talks will be held between Monday 10th and Friday 14th March.
During the Lent the community is also invited to live actively the following moments of Liturgy and Catechesis:
Daily:
- Via Crucis after the 8.00am & 9.00am Masses.
- Morning Prayers in the 9.00am Mass.
- The Via Crucis after the 5.30pm Mass.
Every Friday:
- Confessions in the Basilica
- The Lectio Divina of Sunday led by Fr Joseph Mercieca steamed live on Facebook and on YouTube Channel.
Every Sunday:
- Mass for families and children at 10.00am led by Fr Martin Cilia MSSP.
- Solemn Singing of the Vespers at 4.30pm, together with the Collegiate Chapter.
