Another important milestone has been reached in the development of our archives. Thanks to the wizards at 3Bit, a local start-up that provides exceptional technology solutions to businesses and organizations looking to further develop and digitalize their brand, a search engine is now available on our website, by means of which it is now possible to search the parish databases of baptisms, marriages and deaths.  The databases have been 20 years in the making, and counting. The marriage and death databases are complete, the former being subject to data protection provisions. For the time being the baptism database coves the period 1893 to 1930. In the near future it will cover the period from 1847, and eventually from 1632. It will take a few more years, but it is doable.

It would not have been possible to compile the databases without the collective effort of many individuals, who are too many to name here. But it would be in order to single out Mr. Twanny Mifsud of Siġġiewi parish, who manually compiled an index of the first five baptism indexes.

The search engine is availabe for a nominal fee of Euro 5 to cover yearly internet hosting costs. The fee entitles the user for 5000 searches, that is to say each search costs 1/1000 of an euro.
