The 209 edition of Il-Belt Victoria has just been published, featuring various articles and full colour photos. The front cover carries a photo of Fontana’s titular statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on the altar of St George’s Basilica for the occasion of the 100th anniversary from its creation by Wistin Camilleri. The publication covers the events of the Annual Festa with a selection of photos on the inside and back. This edition features an article about former Archpriest Mgr Paul Cardona who passed way on 22 June 2023. Paul Zammit, a close friend and collaborator of the late Archpriest who hailed from Ta’ Sannat, pens down his thoughts on Dun Pawl’s spiritual qualities and mission at St George’s. The article also features numerous photos of Mgr Cardona. The Editorial and the Archpriest’s Message also salute the former Archpriest.
A progress report on the works carried out on the Neo-Byzantine Chapel and an article on the restoration works on the old baptismal font are provided.
