In-Novena tal-Milied
– the nine days of devotion leading into the Christmas season is not just a tradition, but a walk of faith. The simplicity of Christmas introduces us to the immensity of the mystery of God becoming man.  Thus the Christmas Novena pertains to the world of popular schooling and devotion but, in time, it became a liturgical structure that aids Christians to gain access to the spiritual riches of Christmas.  This year the Christmas Novena starts today, Thursday, December 15, at 6.00pm with the theme Il-Kelma saret laħam.

The carol singing is adapted to the young congregation and it is accompanied by the children’s guitar group. Mass is followed by the singing of the Alma Redemptoris mater and sacramental benediction.

One way of experiencing this Advent is the Tree of Charity. This year we will support Arka, Dar Emmaws, id-Djakonija Djoċesana, Dar San Ġużepp, the Jesuit Refugee Services and the Rise Foundation.  Place your gifts under the tree.

This year, the Novena is being given by Archpriest Mgr Joseph Curmi.

This novena ends on Friday, December 23.
