Rev. Deacon Gabriel Vella to be ordained priest

Thanks to the Grace of God, Rev. Deacon Gabriel Vella, later on today, will be receiving his Holy Orders.

Vella who hails from Qala, began his studies in September 2015. He spent the intermediary year in the Parish of St Celestine in Castelnuovo Rangone, in the province of Modena in Italy.

Gabriel Vella was conferred with the Ministry of the Acolyte by the Bishop of Gozo Anton Teuma, during a Pontifical Mass on the 8th of December 2020.  He was then admitted as a candidate for the Sacred Order in the Gozo Cathedral on the 20th of May.  Mons. Anton Teuma officiated the Diaconal Ordination of Gabriel Vella, on the 18th of June last year at the Gozo Cathedral.  This year, he is serving diligently our parish.

In preparation for the occasion, a prayer vigil was held yesterday at Sacred Heart Minor Seminary.  The vigil was followed by a night of adoration.
