Due to the imposed restrictions, this year’s Titular Procession of St George will assume a more devout character taking the form of a pilgrimage with moments of prayer for the intercession of St George on the island of Gozo. The La Stella Band will accompany as usual with religious hymns, written along the years to honour Gozo’s Patron Saint and narrating the love of the people our island towards the martyr saint.
All parishioners are encouraged to take part in this special pilgrimage, which leaves St George’s Basilica at 7.00pm, and to march behind the statue and participate in prayer. Booklets with the lyrics of most of the hymns played by the Band will be distributed, however one may download to their mobile or tablet the text for both prayers and hymns by clicking on the two images below.
